California (USC) suggests
that a Fasting
Mimicking Diet (FMD) in
mouse model has
significant impact in reducing
inflammotory bowel diseases. This study was based on previous human FMD
trial and used the proprietay plant based diet by L-nutra.

Speaking at the University Club, Queen's University, Deputy High
commissioner Arun Sahu emphasized the sustainable growth of around
7% in India achieved by the country for the past 15 years and
projected the country to become a five trillion economy by 2025.
Currently
the trade between India and Canada is just around Five billion as
opposed to 20 billion with China. Mentioning that 50% of the Indian
population is under 25 and being a democratic country with fast
pace development in infrastructures, education and tourism-he
called for
Canadian partnership in all spheres of Indian economy. Dr. Jill Scott
Vice-Principal, Queens University said that India is an important
country to Canada and currently 172,000 student are enrolled in
Canadian Universities —
a huge jump from few years
ago. Some delegates from Kingston who shared their experiences
investing in India
were Mr. Chander Datta, CEO, Cancoil Thermal Corporation, Dr, Praveen
Jain, Professor at Queen's and CEO, Sparq Systems and Mr. Matt Pomeroy,
Financial Centre Manager, Sun Life Financial. Dr. Chad Joshi,
CEO, Advonex International who attended from Brockville spoke on
tranforming non-food seed oils into recession-proof products. He
expressed his wish to partnership with India with a focus on crops like
jatropha which is largely used to produce bio-diesel; a wasteful
process compared to his approach of using the plant.
The
event was organized by India-Canada Associaition of Kingston in
association with Kingston Economic Development Corporation and Greater
Kingston Chamber of Commerce.
